Scenic view of unique rock formations and hoodoos in a barren desert landscape under a partly cloudy sky.

ABOUT

Bisti Studios takes its name from the Navajo word Bistahí, ‘among the adobe formations.’ Just as the hoodoos of the Bisti Badlands were carved by time into haunting forms, our mission is to shape stories that endure—authentic, transformative, and cinematic. Rooted in Farmington, NM, we stand at the meeting point of land, culture, and imagination. Every frame begins with place. Every story begins with truth.

For the Diné (Navajo people), the land isn’t backdrop—it’s living presence. The Bisti is part of Dinétah, the traditional Navajo homeland, and is tied to creation stories, migrations, and ceremonial knowledge. While not every specific story is shared outside the community, the general truth is: this is sacred ground, marked by transformation, survival, and deep time.

Bisti Studios recognizes and honors the land and its first storytellers, the Diné. Our name isn’t an aesthetic flourish—it’s a statement that every story we tell is tied to place, history, and survival.
